Creative of the Month

Stephanie Daniel

Idyllwild, Ca.

-How did you become interested in becoming a creative person?

I’ve known since I was little that I needed to do something creative to be happy. I was always drawn to art, design, and anything that allowed me to make something with my hands.

Creativity has always felt like an essential part of who I am—it’s how I express myself and connect with the world.

I couldn’t imagine doing anything else; being artistic isn’t just a career choice for me, it’s the way I experience life.

-How would you describe your work?

I’d describe my jewelry as raw and sculptural, with inspiration drawn from nature and the textures around me.

Each piece starts as a hand-carved wax that’s cast in small batches, so no two are ever exactly the same. I like when a piece feels a little imperfect—something that shows the hand that made it.

My work is about creating pieces with soul and character that people connect to and make their own.

-What inspires you and brings you the most satisfaction in doing your creative endeavors?

I’m most inspired by nature, texture, and the process of making things by hand. I love seeing how a rough idea or a small piece of wax can evolve into something tangible and lasting.

The most satisfying part for me is when a piece comes to life—when it carries the marks of the process and feels connected to both the materials and the person who will wear it.

There’s something really grounding about creating with my hands and knowing each piece has its own story.
